      Audi launches the facelifted version of its A4 in India

      The German Automotive manufacturer Audi has launched its facelifted A4 in India on 3rd May 2012. New Audi A4 comes with a bunch of technologically advanced and brilliant features to ensure that the customers get the complete value for their money. The car-maker has worked in detail on every aspect of the car, from interior to exterior to make it more comfortable and safe.

      Audi was compelled to launch the all new Audi A4 facelift due to stiff competition from BMW and Mercedes. The new A4 is being launched to compete with the Mercedes Benz C-class and sixth generation BMW 3 series. This car is introduced by the German automobile Giant in both petrol and diesel variants. A4 will be offered in three engine options namely 1.8 TFSI petrol, a 2.0 TDI diesel and 3.0 TDI diesel Quattro. The turbocharged direct-injection engines features start stop function. Power generated by the 1.8TFSI petrol engine of new A4 is 170 hp, which is 8 hp more than the previous model. Further, 320 Nm torque is churned by the engine, which is 70 Nm more than the earlier version.

      The car, which is a result of lightweight construction method, has a kerb weight of 1,430kg. According to the car maker, the fuel consumption has been reduced by 10 percent. Mileage of 15.64 kmpl is delivered by the 1.8 TFSI, which is 25 percent more than its competitors. According to ARAI, the 2.0 TDI provides fuel economy of 16.55 kmpl. Front portion has received a change in form of the new headlights. The bonnet of the A4 facelift has a detailed outline now. At the rear, Audi A4 facelift sports new tail lights completely with redesigned LED.

      Even the interior of this car is impressive. The three-spoke electromechanical steering replaces the four spoke hydraulic unit on the earlier model. Fine chrome clasps are provided to the infotainment controls, air-conditioning and power windows button. Concert radio with eight speakers comes as standard feature in the new car. However, the top-end model of the A4 has DVD player, colour monitor and MMI navigation system with voice dialogue.

      Speaking at the launch, Audi India Head Michael Perschke said, “I’m confident that our impressive sales performance where we achieved the No.2 position in the first quarter coupled with the launch of the new Audi A4, Audi TT and the imminent arrival of the Audi Q3, plus our fast expanding dealer network will ensure that Audi maintains its position as the fastest growing luxury car brand in India.”

      As per reports, the 1.8-litre TFSI petrol is introduced with a price tag of Rs. 27.33 lacs whereas the 2.0-litre TDI will be available with Rs. 29.38 lacs. 3.0-litre TDI diesel Quattro will carry the highest price tag of Rs. 38 lacs (All prices are Ex-showroom Maharashtra).
