While India is still waiting for the re-introduction of the Honda Accord, the us-spec model of the car is all set to receive the mid-life facelift model of the car. The updated model of the car has been recently spotted, revealing some interesting details about the product.
On the exterior, the saloon gets a larger chrome grille, revised front and rear bumpers, LED detailing on the headlight enclosures, chrome headlights for rear bumper and bootlid and an integrated spoiler. The American version of the saloon is expected to get a tuned V6 engine that might be boosted with direct injection system. A new 9-speed automatic transmission is also expected to appear on the U.S-spec model.
If launched in India, the new-gen Accord might get a 2.4-litre, four-cylinder petrol engine. The engine is estimated to deliver power output similar to the phased-out model, i.e. 177bhp. A 1.6-litre diesel powertrain might also be on offer. However, the company hasn’t, yet, officially said anything about it. The suspension setup of the new Accord, too, is likely to be tuned for better handling.
Set to rival against the Volkswagen Passat, Skoda Superb and Toyota Camry, the new-generation Honda Accord is likely to be price between Rs. 20 lakh – Rs. 25 lakh. Besides Accord, the company might also bring in the new-gen Civic to India.
