Mahindra & Mahindra is planning to launch the XUV500 facelift on May 25, 2015. The XUV500 facelift will receive significant exterior and interior updates. The engine specifications, however, might remain unchanged.
The new model will feature a chrome grille, the new Scorpio-inspired LED daytime running light, new headlight cluster and chrome-finished fog light enclosures on the front end. Other updates will be new alloy wheel pattern, re-designed rear door and chrome-garnished registration plate enclosure.
As the spied car was in Purple shade, we can expect Mahindra to roll out the SUV with this colour option.The interior is likely to be carried over from the existing model. Though, the company might add new Plum shade on the seats and beige plastic inserts to enhance its feel.
The new XUV500 will continue to be powered with the existing 2.2-litre, 4-cylinder diesel engine. This engine develops a maximum power of 140bhp, while yielding a peak torque of 330Nm. Mated with a 6-speed manual transmission, it returns a fuel economy of 15.1kmpl. Expected to be priced between Rs. 11 lakh – Rs. 16 lakh, the 2015 Mahindra XUV500 will compete against the likes of Renault Duster, Tata Safari Strome, Skoda Yeti and Nissan Terrano.
