Volkswagen India is about to launch the new Polo in India by 2015-end. The Indian version of the German manufacturer is yet to make any announcement regarding the launch of Volkswagen Polo GTI. This Volkswagen model is expected to face strong rivalry from Fiat Punto Evo Abarth, which will be introduced in the festive season in India.
Polo GTI is powered by a 1.8-litre, four cylinder, turbocharged petrol mill, which generates 188 bhp power and 320 Nm torque. The engine is mated to a seven-speed DSG transmission. It is expected to reach 100 kilometres per hour in 6.7 seconds flat. The new Polo will feature AWD with disc brakes as well as new sports suspension. Apart from these features, the car is provided with engine drag control, electronic differential lock and vehicle dynamic function XDS+.
Polo GTI will come via the CKD-route as reported till now. The Polo GTI is quite similar to the previous model apart from styling changes in the car. The Polo GTI comes with honeycomb mesh grille, re-designed bumpers, red brake callipers and 17-inch alloy wheels. The interior of the new Polo GTI features sports seats, re-designed steering wheel and aluminium pedals.
