With the growing Indian economy, the purchasing power of people has also grown. Instead of budget friendly cars, Indians are now ready to spend money on premium cars that offer them spaciousness, advanced features, driving pleasure and comfort. So, if you are planning to buy a sedan, here's a list of the ones to be priced under Rs. 10 lakh.
1. Tata Kite compact sedan - Buoyed by the positive response for the Bolt and the Zest, the home-grown automaker is now planning to launch a sub-compact sedan and a hatchback under its 'Kite' project. The Kite compact sedan will come as a replacement for the Indigo eCS, and will get good exteriors and improved interiors. Like the Zest, the compact sedan will be offered in both petrol and diesel guise. While the petrol unit could be the Zest's naturally-aspirated 1.2-litre motor, the oil burner will be an all new 1.05-litre unit.
Expected Launch - 2015-16
Expected Price - Rs. 4 lakh
2. Toyota Vios - The Japanese automaker might launch the Vios sedan to fill the gap between the Etios sedan and the Corolla Altis. Set to rival against the Honda City, Hyundai Verna, Maruti Ciaz and others in the mid-sized sedan segment, the sedan will get a 1.5-litre petrol and a 1.4-litre diesel engine.
Expected Launch - Early 2016
Expected Price - Rs. 7 lakh - Rs. 8 lakh
3. Honda Amaze facelift- Honda launched the Amaze compact sedan as its first diesel car in India, which received an overwhelming response from car buyers. But, this car has been heavily criticised for its poor NVH levels and average interiors. The company will address this issue with the Amaze facelift, which is likely to go on sale by the festive season.
Expected Launch - Festive season 2015
4. Volkswagen Vento facelift - After giving mechanical upgrade and subtle styling tweaks, VW is now ready to give a major makeover to the Vento sedan. The new model will get new front fascia with new grille, headlamps and bumper inspired from Passat, while the interiors are likely to get more features and new upholstery.
Expected Launch - Festive season, 2015
