      Honda seems all geared up to inflate its market presence in India and the company is not using its instinctive ideology only on the forthcoming year but is planting its success road for the journey way ahead. Amidst a series of upcoming launches, the auto maker has unveiled its plans for 2016 as well. The Japanese auto giant will be marking the advent of its Multi Purpose Vehicle (MPV) Freed in India by 2016, which will directly square off against the likes of Toyota Innova.

      Honda Freed has been present in the global market since 2008 and is based on the platform of Jazz hatchback. Honda has always targeted the Asian markets like Malaysia, Thailand, Singapore and Hong Kong, for the launch of this car in upgraded versions. With unique features in its respective segment, Freed has been lauded by auto aficionados and Honda has constantly en cashed on its immense success. Keeping up with the trend, the company is aiming to offer the next generation model of Freed in the Indian market. In the international markets, the model is available in 5, 7 and 8 seater versions, all equipped with a 1.5-litre petrol variant. Experts are of a view that when brought to India, the car will be incorporated by the same engine capacity, except for minor tweaks and retuning. Also, they are speculating that the car will be revamped keeping the Indian road conditions and requirements of domestic consumers in mind.

      Contemplating Honda's tradition of launching all its premium automobiles in a diesel version, it will be interesting to see if the car is also equipped with the “Earth Dream” technology. Sources close to the development process have revealed that Honda is planning to outpace Toyota Innova in the MPV segment, wherein the latter has been indomitable. Since its launch in 2005, Toyota Innova has been the most efficient passenger car, ensuring maximum safety and utmost ride comfort for commuters. With exemplary fuel economy figures and superb features, the car has been rewarded with innumerable accolades in the past. Also, Toyota is even planning to launch the next generation model of its iconic MPV during the same time when India will get a glimpse of Honda Freed and it will be astonishing to see how the rivalry gets executed finally.
