The niche cruiser segment of bikes is all set to get a stiff rivalry from the popular US-based manufacturer UM India Two Wheelers. Its first cruiser bike, UM Renegade Commando is launch-ready and the manufacturer has kept an aggressive price of 1.25 lakh INR for the model. The bike will be supposedly launched by November and is expected to make a strong statement to this popular segment of bikes in India. This model is designed based perfectly on the cruiser model, which is ideal for those who like to rule the roads, especially the challenging ones.
Low seats, wide and a high handlebar, raked out front forks and a curvy fuel tank – the bike has it all what it takes to make a mark in this category. Initially, the bike will be available in three shades – matte green, white and black, which are common in this category. There might be some more colours in addition to these in the pipeline, as well. It will be initially launched in New Delhi, Pune and the other metropolitan cities of India. Later on, the bike will be made available for customers at other locations, as well. It is expected that the cruiser bike will be made available for customers just after the end of the festive season, in November.
The model that comes to Indian has been efficiently designed and powered keeping in mind the Indian roads. The 225 cc engine, which has a single cylinder and air cooled motor, will be capable enough to produce 18 PS of power at 8000 rpm. When it comes to maximum torque, the bike is super at 15.5 Nm at a maximum 5500 rpm. Together mated with a five-speed gearbox, the cruiser bike stands out as eligible to be among the key performers in this category.
Though, it is already being said, the brand has kept the price a bit too aggressive for this category, however, the specifications are also there to complement it. Whether or not the bike is successful in reaching the customers, time will be able to tell. Definitely, the launch of this bike will give the fans a new option in this category, which is among the most sought-after segments by bike lovers.
