      Toyota Innova facelift version rumoured to be launched in this festive season

      As the festive season in India is just around the around the corner in India, major auto makers are planning to introduce new vehicles in the market so as to lure more buyers. One of the leading car maker of the Indian market, Toyota Kirloskar Motor has already shelved its plans regarding the launch of new products. It is reported that the Japan based company might be seen launching Etios and Liva Xclusive models in the Indian car market. In addition, a new facelift version of Innova, which was recently launched in Indonesia might also make inroads in India any time soon.

      In the new facelift version of Innova, changes have been made to the interiors as well as exteriors of the vehicle. At the front end of the car, a larger chrome grille is provided that bears the logo of the auto maker. Also, the front bumper gets re-styled fag lamps, new air-dampener and elongated headlights. While at the rear end, the car gets minor tweaks in chrome tailgate besides the marginally changed bumper. The interiors of the car shall get better leather upholstery, steering mounted audio controls, two tone colour scheme and a new audio system having a touchscreen display.

      In terms of engine and performance, the popular Multi Purpose Vehicle (MPV) gets the same specifications as given in the current generation one. The petrol variant will be powered by the 2.0-litre VVT powertrain that gives away output of 132 bhp. In case of diesel version, Toyota will be providing a 2.5-litre D4D engine having an ability to produce 103 bhp. It is likely that the company might provide the same 5-speed manual transmission on Innova in India. The updated version will be offered in seven trim levels that include G, GX, VX and Z. Apart from the top-end Z variant, the other three trims might be provided with seven and eight seater options.

      Since its launch in 2005, this will be the third time that the Toyota Innova might go through changes. The car had previously gone for updates in 2009 and 2011 in which a lot of advancements were given in the designing aspect of it. Sources are claiming the company has even asked the dealer to stop taking bookings for the current generation Innova. As far the price is concerned, the new updates version of Innova might be costlier than the existing one. For the top-end Z variant, the price could be somewhere around Rs.17.5 lakh owing to the added premium functionalities. Also to mention, sources have suggested that the company is working a new version of Innova that will get major changes in the engine and performance section and it expected to hit the global markets by 2015.
