Chevrolet Enjoy was showcased at the Auto Expo held in the year 2012. By showcasing this vehicle at the mega event, the auto maker had indicated about its plans to introduce an all new Multi Utility Vehicle (MUV) in the Indian automobile market. Notably, at the auto show, the car company had only revealed a prototype of the vehicle. The car with increased dimensions was reported to be based on the CN platform of General Motors. Many industry experts had then hailed the company's initiative to bring-in something new for customers and car enthusiasts of the country; something that could be called as value add for money with more space and utility in offer.
After that debut, the car was ultimately launched by the auto maker in May 2013 as an MUV. The pricing was done aggressively to get more and more domestic attention. The Managing Director and President of General Motors India, Lowell Paddock, had said, "The Enjoy will compete in one of the fastest growing segments in India. We expect that this model will be a success considering its attributes and pricing.” Notably, the car was launched with a market price of Rs. 5.59 lakh for the base petrol variant and Rs. 6.85 lakh for the introductory diesel version.
This MUV is high on style with a distinctive front fascia. In fact, the front portion is accentuated with a signature Chevrolet Bowtie in the chrome surround three-dimensional grille. The front bumper carries chrome surround meshed air dam along with leaf styled fog lamps. Also, the bonnet is distinctly tapered in the downward direction. All these characteristic exterior features, along with stylish headlamps and integrated sporty rear spoiler with high mount stop lamp give Enjoy an unique identity; something that owners can cherish.
Interiors of the model are revamped to make for an impressive cabin entry. An overall glance in the cabin highlights luxurious dual tone interiors with wood-finish air conditioner vents and door trim inserts. The dashboard comes with a triple cluster silver surround instrument panel, which has been fortified by a blue night-time illumination. The seats in the 3rd row can be easily double-folded to create more space for luggage. Chevrolet Enjoy comes with front and rear air conditioning system to acclimatise the ambient temperature for the maximum comfort of passengers. Tilt steering and thoughtfully incorporated multi-purpose 12 V accessory power outlet in the 3rd row has been introduced to enhance the experience of buyers. Furthermore, this utility vehicle comes with a height adjustable driver seat. Evidently, for want of comfort and space, customers would surely love this new utility vehicle.
Chevrolet Enjoy is available with both, petrol and diesel engines. The petrol variant comes equipped with a 1.4-litre SMARTECH petrol engine that delivers a power of 102 bhp at 6000 rpm. The peak torque generated by this petrol powertrain stands at 131 Nm at 4400 rpm. With petrol option, the company claims that a mileage of up to 13.7 kmpl is pretty much on cards. The diesel variant comes with a 1.3-litre SMARTECH turbo charged DOHC diesel mill that can deliver an output of 75.5 bhp at 4000 rpm and peak torque of 188 Nm at 1750 rpm.
This utility vehicle has been designed with an intent to make it as one of the safest vehicles to travel on city roads and highways. It comes with 10 collision protection beams that are made of high strength steel and in-built crumple zones along with side impact beam in doors for maximum safety. Reverse parking sensors, dual front airbags, ABS (Anti-Lock Braking System) with EBD (Electronic Brake-force Distribution) and rear wheel drive are some other features that make this utility vehicle popular among customers.
