Toyota is on brink of launching updated Corolla Altis sedan and Etios Cross Crossover. The Japanese auto maker has already started accepting bookings for both the vehicles, facelifted Corolla and new Etios Cross can be reserved for Rs 50,000. Both the cars are also said to have reached dealerships hinting at the launch to happen soon. However, the car maker has not made any official announcement regarding the launch dates of both the cars, but speculations are rife that Corolla Altis and Etios Cross may launch towards the end of May.

Toyota Etios Cross is a brawned avatar of Etios Liva hatchback. The Crossover dons a comprehensive body kit with a complete plastic body cladding, skid plates and roof rails imparting a craggy look. Etios Cross will be a new entrant in the sub-four meter segment boasting increased height, width and height than its sibling Etios Liva. Toyota will roll out Etios Cross in three engine options-two petrol and one diesel motor. Power will be transmitted to the front wheels through a five speed manual transmission. On the price front, Etios Cross is expected to be tagged aggressively, a hypothetical price ranging between Rs 5 lakh to Rs 8 lakh is being speculated for the crossover. The crossover will fight against the likes of Volkswagen Polo Cross and yet to be launched Fiat Avventura.
Tweaked Corolla Altis is said to have various things in common with Europe bound Corolla Altis. Corolla’s successor version is said to be longer and wider than the outgoing version. Ample changes can be spotted on the facelifted version of the premium saloon. Bestowed with the ‘Furia’ design philosophy, Coroll Altis facelift will sport a new front faccade and cutting edge body lines. Numerous additions have been made inside the cabin, besides the comfort and convenience features few vital safety features have also been added.
Petrol and diesel variants will be powered with the same motors as in the current version. A 1.8 litre gasoline engine and a 1.4 litre diesel powertarin will be housed in 2014 Corolla Altis saloon. A six-speed manual gearbox and a seven speed automatic gearbox will be put on offer, however automatic tranny will be bestowed on the petrol variant only. We expect the car maker to price new Corolla Altis somewhere between Rs 12 lakh to Rs 17 lakh (please note that this is a hypothetical price based on speculations).
