Tata Motors has strengthened its CNG-powered vehicle portfolio by revealing yet another CNG model. This time it is the micro-SUV, Punch. The Punch i-CNG was showcased alongside the Altroz i-CNG at the Auto Expo 2023. We expect the brand to introduce both CNG models soon in India.

      Tata Punch Open Boot/Trunk

The Punch gets India’s first twin-cylinder technology, where there are two CNG cylinder tanks of 30 litres each. This has resulted in better space management in the cargo area at the rear. That said, another new introduction in the Punch lineup is the inclusion of a sunroof. This makes Punch the only CNG model to sport a sunroof in the segment. Apart from that, no changes have been made to the exterior of the Punch i-CNG.

      Tata Punch Sunroof/Moonroof

Under the hood, the micro-SUV gets the same 1.2-litre petrol engine producing 85bhp and 113Nm of torque in petrol mode and around 72bhp and 95Nm of torque in CNG mode. Additionally, the transmission on offer is the standard five-speed manual gearbox.

Upon launch, the Punch i-CNG could command a premium of Rs 50,000 – 70,000 over the equivalent standard variants.
