Official partner of Formula One for connectivity, Tata Communications, has gone ahead to announce its large task as a part of the 2015 F1 Connectivity Innovation Prize. The firm has put forth a challenge to participants who are technology aficionados and asked them to design a prediction tool for fans of Formula One.

Without much detail being given, the participants have been asked to create a tool that will allow fans to post their predictions regarding the driver and team for evaluation at every Grand Prix. The organisers have included the fact that the Formula One management should be able to analyse and rank the correct prediction, following which the most accurate fans will be rewarded.

Speaking on the same, Chief Technical Officer of Formula One Management John Morrison said that fans have a keep interest into how drivers react to adverse conditions, including and especially bad weather. Keeping this in mind, the tool should facilitate the use of practice data to predict the panning out of the race. One reason behind the introduction of this tool is to increase the viewership and engagement. It would also increase the fan base of a sport that is already one of the biggest in the world.

The judging panel of this competition comprises no less than official technologists of Formula One and drivers, such as John Morrison, David Coulthard, Martin Brundle, Paddy Lowe and Lewis Hamilton. Also, Managing Director of Formula One Business at Tata Communications, Mehul Kapadia, is going to join this panel.

This competition is now open to fans across the world and anyone with interest in Formula One and a penchant for technology can participate. Winning the competition is going to be no small feat as the winner is going to get a trophy and a prize of USD 50,000. The deadline for submitting entries is September 8th, 2015.
