Immense buzz has been created around launch of upcoming Tata Bolt. Displayed at the 2014 Auto Expo, Bolt is a replacement of Vista hatchback that dons new design philosophy and is equipped with advanced technology. The hatchback is slated to launch by the end of this year in India. This new-age contemporary looking hatchback has a lot to offer to customers. Backed by aggressive styling, Bolt is all set to silent critics of Tata Motors’ conventionally designed cars. Tata has bestowed its new design language philosophy, ‘DESIGNEXT’ on Bolt. In the front is Tata’s new signature style grille built in tandem with ‘Humanity Line’, seamlessly meeting into head lights. Similarity could be seen inside the cabin with Vista, though Tata has revivified comprehensively such as black and optional colour combination shade, redesigned steering wheels, silver trim inserts, restyled instrument cluster with integrated multi-information display, reworked A/C vent design among others.
The company has developed new age, turbocharged intercooled multi-point, fuel-injected 1.2 litre Revotron petrol engine. This newly developed 1.2 litre Revotron petrol engine develops a top power output of 89 Bhp and a peak torque of 200 Nm. Diesel variants will be housed with a 1.3 litre, Fiat sourced multijet diesel powertrain that does duty in other poplar vehicles in India.
Bolt will also come incorporated with some of the segment first features including a five-inch infotainment system. Exquisitely designed by HARMAN, Bolt will get an infotainment and audio acoustics system, navigation and location based services system developed by MapMyIndia will also be embedded inside the cabin. Other vital features like wire technology for enhanced engine response, tweaked suspension works in symbioses with zero pivot subframe for improved and effortless ride. Preeminent safety features like Anti-lock-Braking system will be proffered on the hatchback. We expect Tata to price, Bolt at a price ranging between Rs 4.5 lakh to Rs 7 lakh. In domestic market, Bolt will rival other hatchbacks including Maruti Swift, Volkswagen Polo and Ford Figo.
