      Japanese auto biggie Suzuki managed to grab quite a lot of eyeballs with the Wagon R MPV concept at the recent Indonesia Motor show. The concept car has been rechristened as 'Karimun Wagon R 3 Row Concept'. Suzuki has managed to sneak-in a third row in this concept vehicle thereby classifying it as a seven seater MPV. The Wagon R MPV showcased at the event is said to be based on the Wagon R hatchback platform, but the showcased car featured a longer body length to enable the inclusion of a third row seat. The Datsun Go+ was recently showcased in the Auto Expo 2014 event. The Go+ MPV is stated to be compliant with Indonesian government’s Low Cost Green Car Program (LCGC).

      As per sources, the Suzuki Wagon R MPV concept maybe powered by 1.2-litre KB12 petrol engine or may use the existing 1.3-litre DDiS diesel engine. Based on rough estimates, the fairly powered engines may return a decent fuel efficiently figures of about 20 kmpl. As seen in Indonesian Motor show, the showcased MPV featured bigger wheels with some tweaks to the existing suspension system. Sources have hinted a possibility for the car being offered with a price tag of well under the Rs. 7 lakh bracket to make it a tough contender in the Indian market. The Suzuki Wagon R MPV concept is placed in completion with the Datsun Go+ MPV that due for launch this year.

      On the exterior front, the Suzuki Wagon R MPV shares a lot of resemblance with the existing Maruti Suzuki hatchback in the country. A small window has been provided for the third row occupants. Suzuki has not revealed exact technical specification for the production version for now, it may be revealed at a later date when the Japanese car-maker makes an official announcement stating the same.

      As per reports, GO+ shall be powered by Nissan’s 1.2-litre, three-cylinder petrol engine which generates about 68 PS of power and 104 Nm of peak torque. The MPV shall be mated to a 5-speed manual transmission. Moreover, overall kerb weight of the car is a good 794 kgs that makes it faster and efficient than the rest in this segment. Furthermore, it is also one of the lightest MPV's that has been put up for sale in India. There are certain excise duty benefits that come with cars in the sub-4m bracket, and Datsun Go+ powered by a 1.2 litre engine, and an overall length of 3995 mm makes it befitting in this category. The pricing for this MPV shall also be well within the competitive range to draw a swarm of interested buyers.
