      Spied-Honda Mobilio diesel in India

      Honda’s much awaited MPV, Mobilio is due to be launched in the third week of July. Before the MPV gets launched in India, latest spy shots of the vehicle have gone viral on the inter-web. The variant snapped is the diesel powered ‘V’ trim as the ‘i-DTEC’ badge was affixed on the bootlid.

      Looking closely at the spotted vehicle, one would notice a string pf features including a set of fog lights in the front, alloy wheels which indicate that this could be one of the top-of-the-line trims and a reverse camera. Traces of similarity were seen in the India bound Mobilio and the Indonesia-spec model.

      With the launch slated for next month, engine specifications and some of the other details regarding the MPV are already out. Honda India will roll out Mobilio in petrol and diesel engine options. The petrol variants will be equipped with a 1.5 litre four pot gasoline engine capable of developing a maximum power output of 119 PS along with a top torque of 145 Nm. Petrol trims could be made available with a five-speed manual gearbox or a CVT option. Diesel powered Mobilo is likely to be packed with a 1.5 litre i-DTEC powertrain that engenders a pinnacle power and torque output of 100 PS and 200 Nm respectively. Diesel trims will be proffered with a five-speed tranny only. The other two models from Honda that are available in diesel variants include new City and Amaze.

      Underpinning the popular Brio plat from, Mobilio will be offered in three row layout and it is being said that Honda has worked meticulously on offering a roomier third row. Market leaders, Ertiga, Enjoy and Innova will pose threat to the first MPV from Honda India. However, an aggressive pricing and a length of over four meters could definitely work in Mobilio’s favour.
