Popular bike manufacturer Royal Enfield, it seems like, is gearing up for the launch of a new model, which has been caught testing again. According to images released by Motor Vikatan, the new model was spotted testing in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, a few days ago, which triggered the speculation of an imminent launch. According to sources, this bike might be named Himalayan and it is likely to feature a design that is different from what the firm usually offers.

Images suggest that a lot of features of this bike are similar to the Continental GT, such as tail-light, mudguard and headlamp. However, in order to add to its freshness, Royal Enfield has altered the design by raising the handlebar and riding position of the Himalayan. One of the highlights of this bike, an adventure tourer, will be the inclusion of a mono-shock absorber. Also, there are reports of the firm providing this bike with disc brakes (both rear and front).

Though not much has been revealed about this new model, either by the firm or any sources, it is expected that the Royal Enfield Himalayan will feature a 400 cc powertrain. According to reports that had surfaced earlier, the bike manufacturer had been developing a new 400 cc engine.

In another interesting recent development, a Continental GT chassis was spied testing with a 750-cc air-cooled engine. This drivetrain, reportedly, has the ability to develop 45-50 BHP and peak torque in excess of 60 Nm.
