      Indian Chief Dark Horse and Roadmaster set to be unveiled on May 7th

      Iconic bike manufacturer Indian Motorcycles is likely to take covers off two new models in coming days. The American firm, which has been in business since the 1950s, is going to inaugurate a new showroom in Bangalore, which is the capital of Karnataka.

      This showroom is going to be Indian Motorcycles’ third dealership in India and will open on May 7th, 2015. The opening of this dealership is expected to be attended by Scott W. Wine, Chief Executive Officer of Polaris Industries); Michael D. Dougherty, Vice President of Asia Pacific and Latin American regions; and Bennet J. Morgan, President and Chief Operating Officer.

      The two models that are set to be unveiled by Indian Motorcycles include the Roadmaster and Chief Dark Horse. Notably, the Indian Chief Dark Horse saw entry into global markets in the month of February, 2015, and it is likely to be brought to the country’s market via the Completely Built Unit (CBU) route. Reports claim that the Indian Chief Dark Horse is going to launch this bike at a price of Rs. 21.99 lakh (ex-showroom).

      This bike is fitted with a Thunder Stroke 111 powertrain that has a displacement of 1811 cc and also powers Indian Chief Vintage, Chieftain and Roadmaster versions. The engine is capable of generating a torque level of 139 Nm.

      Indian Motorcycles will be launching the Chief Dark Horse with an aim of targeting the young population. It is offering a wide range of features in this bike, such as keyless ignition, electronic cruise control, Anti-lock Braking System and a single-seating configuration. One of the biggest USPs of this bike its long accessory list that stretches to as high as 40 and includes things likes pillion seat.
