The compact MPVs and SUVs have been witnessing a superb upheaval in the last couple of years. Every manufacturer has launched a number of models in this segment. Apart from this factor, the manufacturers are working on more cars to introduce in this segment. Among these, two most popular and most-awaited MPVs in this segment are Renault Lodgy and Datsun Go+. Let us look at the two cars, which are being eagerly awaited in the Indian market.
Renault Lodgy will be launched in the Indian market and probably will be the first to make a foray. This MPV is scheduled to be launched during the first half of 2015 and the Indian subsidiary of the French company has revealed the first pictures of this car. Lodgy is set to receive some positive changes when it is launched. This will allow the manufacturer to price it quite competitively. It shall be powered by a 1.5-litre diesel engine, which generates 85 bhp and a torque output 200 Nm.
This January will also witness the initiation of Datsun Go+ in the Indian automobile sector. This was first showcased at the Delhi Auto Expo in 2014. The car is expected to perform quite well in the market. The Go+ will be powered by a 1.2 litre engine, which generates 67 bhp with a maximum torque output of 104 Nm. Even while going uphill, the car will not fall short of power. On straight roads, the car can easily shoot to 130 kilometres per hour. Definitely, the MPV segment is set to be enriched by these two models in 2015.
