Ford India, owing to unprecedented exports and steady domestic demand during the festive season, achieved a domestic wholesale and export figure of 10,155 units in November 2012. Despite a large number of market challenges prevailing in the subcontinent, domestic sales of Ford India remained healthy with a total sale of 5,944 units in November this year, as against 8,322 units in the same month last year. This is a 29% year-on-year drop in the domestic sales of the company, mainly due to no new product launched in India by Ford this festive season.

Ford India shipped 4,211 cars in November 2012, which was around 200 per cent higher than its exports unit in the same month last year. Exports figure stood at an all time high for the second consecutive months after the company's total sales unit stood at 3,371 units in October this year. Ford India started exporting its vehicles to two new countries last month, which took its total export markets to 37.

Vinay Piparsania, executive director, Marketing, Sales and Service, Ford India said, “By delivering vehicles which are packed with smart technologies, great safety features, are incredibly fuel efficient and which offer a terrific value for money package, we continue to attract many new-to-Ford customers.” He further added, “Despite ongoing market challenges, we are very pleased to see customer sentiments improving and their confidence in the Ford brand continuing to grow.”

The company also opened three new dealerships in Jaipur, Rewari, Rajasthan and Sirsa last month, which took its sales and service outlets to 247 in 129 cities. The company eyes to take this number to 500 by 2015.
