      Hyundai Motor India Ltd (HMIL), which is India's second largest car maker and the largest passenger car exporter, sold 34,751 units in November 2012 in the domestic market as against 35,000 units in the same month last year. The number of units exported stood at 21,011 units as against 22,071 units in November 2011. The combined sales figure remained at 55,762 units which was 57,071 units in the same month last year.

      Rakesh Srivastava, Vice President-Marketing and sales, HMIL, talking on the sales figure for November said, “The adverse market conditions due to high interest rates and inflation continued to pose challenges for growth. Increased diesel fuel price temporarily affected the strong momentum of diesel car sales. However, the festival season stimulated sales of petrol cars. Eon demand continues to grow month on month leading to supply challenges.”

      The break-up of cumulative sales segment-wise for November 2012 are: A2 segment 48,650 Units, which consist of Eon, Santro, i10 and i20. The A3 Segment, which consist of Accent and Verna accounted for 6,526 units. The A4 Segment consisting of Elantra made a sale of 513 units, whereas, the A5 segment which consists of Sonata contributed 20 Units. The SUV segment, particularly, Santa Fe attained a sales figure of 53 units in November 2012.
