The concept of MUVs has been widely accepted by Indian car lovers, resulting in car manufacturers opting for producing such models. Such has been their popularity that a number of new models have made their statement on Indian roads. A few examples of such models are the Maruti Ertiga and Honda Mobilio. These cars have become extremely popular among the Indian MUV lovers.

      Maruti Suzuki Ertiga

Maruti Ertiga has a price range of 5.8 lakhs to 8.5 lakhs INR, which is quite affordable in this segment. The car is powered by an engine of displacement 1248 cc. The car is capable of generating a power output of 88.8 bhp at the rate of 4000 rpm. The net torque output of the engine is 200 Nm at the rate of 1750 rpm. The car comes with a Four-Wheel Drive (FWD) Option. Power is sent to all the four wheels using a five speed gearbox with a rack and pinion system. The car is quite spacious and seven people can be easily accommodated inside the car. The cargo volume is 400 litres making enough room for comfort inside the car. With a 45 litre capacity, the car is meant for long drives on highways.

On the other hand, Honda Mobilio has a price range of 6.5 to 11.5 lakhs and is slightly expensive when compared to Ertiga. The car is powered by a 1498 cc engine, with a power output of 98.63 bhp at the rate of 3600 rpm. The car is meant for generating more power on roads; the net twisting force is same as that of the Maruti car at 200 Nm. Like most other cars in this segment, the model is provided with FWD option. The fuel supply is done with a CRDi fuel injection system and the car comes with a five-speed rack and pinion transmission system. However, the cargo volume of a Mobilio is a bit less than the Maruti model at 223 litres, but is quite a plenty when the segment is seen. The fuel tank capacity is 42 litres, which is large enough for long drives. If you are fond of multi utility vehicles, then these cars might as well be your best bets.
