The 2012 Nissan Evalia MPV is termed as an 'Urban Class Utility Vehicle' by the Japanese car maker and flaunts it’s the pioneer concept of sliding doors in the MPV segment. At a first glance, the car looks a tad boxy but has a premium flavour to its appearance as well. The car is recommended for those buyers who love to recline and spread their legs during a long drive, as the yet-to-be launched Evalia carries segment defining leg and head room under its belt. The car's USP are its capacious interior cabin spacing and plush comfortable seats, which highlight the car's superiority over its rivals.

Coming to the engine specifications, Evalia holds the popular K9K 1.5-litre diesel engine under its hood, which churns out a maximum power-torque output of 85 bhp and 200 Nm, respectively. The K9K engine has served the company well and is also featured in the successful Nissan Sunny and Renault products like Scala and Duster. The Evalia's clever Japanese design and driving attributes make it a highly efficient and comfortable vehicle to drive. The Japanese auto company has claimed that Evalia can hit 60 kmph in 12.7 seconds without breaking a sweat.

Nissan has roped in the current Indian heartthrob Ranbir Kapoor to augment the car's appeal to the urban college going youngsters along with weekend trip loving Indian families as well. It will be interesting to see how the Nissan's 'Urban Class Utility Vehicle' fares upon its arrival on Indian turf against segment leaders like Maruti Suzuki Ertiga, Toyota Innova and Mahindra Xylo.

The Evalia MPV was unveiled at the 2012 Auto Expo held in New Delhi and became an instant crowd puller at the event. The car may seem over priced but only time will tell about the future of the car.
