Maruti Suzuki created news in the hatchback segment with the launch of Celerio in India. This time the India's largest carmaker is working on setting up surprises for the local audience before this year ends with the launch of Maruti Suzuki's Swift facelift. The facelifted version of Maruti Suzuki Swift hatchback is likely to be launched by the end of this month. The upcoming vehicle is likely to be a strong competitor against the likes of fresh launches this year like Volkswagen Polo, Hyundai Elite i20 and Fiat's Punto Evo.
The new Maruti Suzuki Swift shall not receive major engine upgrades or technical uplifts and shall be continued to be powered by 1.4 litre K-Series petrol engine that is capable of delivering power output of about 94 Bhp and peak torque of 130 Nm. The diesel trim shall be powered by 1.3 litre Multi-jet diesel engine that is capable of delivering power output of about 90 Bhp with 200 Nm of torque. If reports are to be believed the new Maruti Suzuki Swift shall also receive four-speed automatic transmission.
Speaking more on the safety aspect, the new Maruti Suzuki Swift may be loaded with features like Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD), Electronic Stability Program (ESP), and front and side airbags. The front fascia sports a redesigned grill, front bumpers and new headlamps. The car also sports fresh alloy wheels that render it a fresh appeal. Apart from this the top end may also receive electrically adjustable ORVMs. Pricing aspect and other specifications shall be known at the time of launch that is due to be held sometime soon.
