      Ford inaugurates Automotive Student Service Educational Training (ASSET) Centre in Cochin, Kerala

      American automotive giant Ford, is the new big name in the Indian automotive industry. In recent times, Ford India has launched some of the most interesting and strong line up of cars in the domestic market. Cars like Ecosport, Fiesta, Figo and Classic have been doing well across segments in the Indian market. To further aid development in the country on the technological front, the brand has inaugurated its first Automotive Student Service Educational Training (ASSET) Centre in collaboration with Social Welfare Technical School, ITI Cochin that aid youngsters to develop their professional skills in the automotive segment.

      The new Automotive Student Service Educational Training (ASSET) Centre was inaugurated by renowned persona like Mr. P.K. Umashankar, Vice-President, Customer Service Operations, Ford India. Apart from him, other big names present on the occasion were Fr. Dr. Mathew Kumbackal, Superior General Little Flower congregation, Fr. Dr. Saji Mathew Kanayakal, Provincial Superior, Mr. Anwar Sadath Member of Legislative Assembly, and Mr. M.T. Jacob, Municipal chairman and Ford dealers.

      Ford has primarily set-up ASSET centers to bring about trained pool of technicians that can aid the brand in growth across India. The partnership with Industrial Training Institute, Cochin shall be extended to 10 cities. The course would include schedules like Train-The-Trainer (TTT) sessions for institute lecturers as well to aid clear imparting of studies to the students. At the event, P.K. Umashankar, Vice President, Customer Service Operations, Ford India said, “We are delighted to partner with Industrial Training Institute, Cochin in our endeavor to provide the latest automotive training to students. With the program, we have truly created an asset that will not only help students with better growth and employment prospects but also the automobile industry with skilled workforce.” He further added, “We would like Ford ASSET centers to be the primary source of trained pool of technicians for Ford dealers across the country and look to expand the partnership to 10 centers in the time to come.”
