Tata Motors has been one among the strongest names in the Indian automotive industry. The recently launched Zest sedan has been a game changer for Tata Motors that had been struggling with not-so-impressive sales numbers in the past. As per a recent data released by Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM), Tata Motors has reportedly sold about 2,671 units in just about two weeks of August this year.

The numbers are expected to further increase with the festive season in the country. The dealers and analysts are of the same view and seem to be positive with growing sales during festive season. A Tata Motors dealer stated, “The interest in Zest is picking up and we expect sales to pick up and reach 4,000-5,000 a month after Diwali.” In September, Tata Motors had tweeted that Zest has received over 10,000 orders from dealers across the country for the months of August and September. The official booking numbers for the Zest shall be revealed this month.

Analysts are of the view that new car launches have helped car-makers create a demand for new cars. Speaking more on the occasion, Puneet Gupta, Associate Director at IHS Automotive, said, “New car models help customers come back to showrooms amid a slowdown. Usually, new models reach their peak volume in 6-12 months. If Tata Motors can sell 10,000 units of Zest in two months, it could be a decent start, but they can certainly deliver more.” Moreover, with the waiting period for petrol trim of Zest spanning two – three months, the demand for the vehicle seems to be pretty obvious.
