Ever since its launch, Toyota Fortuner has been appreciated for its off-road capabilities, powerful engines and masculine styling. With an aim to further increase its sales, the company is now planning to bring the new-gen model of the SUV by early 2016. While the spy shots of the new-gen Toyota Fortuner are doing rounds on web, no official comment have been made on its launch and details.
The Fortuner has been dominating the segment for a long time; and if the SUV somehow manages to look like the rendering, we are hopeful that it will continue to perform well. As a matter of fact, Toyota Fortuner’s monthly sales is 4 to 5-times higher than all of its rivals. The 2016 Fortuner will compete against the upcoming SUVs like the new-generation Ford Endeavour and Chevrolet Trailblazer.
The new Fortuner will receive new exterior styling, more features and revised mechanism. With the modified IMV platform, the new model will be lighter yet stiffer than the outgoing model. It features longer headlight pods, pronounced chrome grille, Innova-inspired sharply stretched windscreen, bold shoulder lines and few other styling elements. The rear profile, too, looks different with a wraparound rear windscreen.
The 2016 model will receive some extra safety features, and brakes, too, will be updated for better safety. Powering the new-gen Fortuner will be the same 3.0-litre and 2.5-litre engines that also does duty to the existing model. Though, the powerful 3.0-litre engine might be tuned for extra power.
