More details have been revealed about new Hyundai i20 Elite hatchback that is due to launch in India on August 11, 2014. Five variants will be offered each in petrol and diesel guise including Era, Mangna, Sportz, Asta and an optional variant could also be offered on either Mangna or Sportz trim. Hyundai is expected to continue powering i20 Elite with same set of petrol and diesel engines-1.2 litre petrol and 1.4 litre diesel powertrain, however it is likely that Hyundai will not offer AT variant this time. A five speed manual will be mated to a 1.2 litre gasoline engine and a six speed manual gearbox will be made available on diesel range of new i20 Elite. Changes have been made to the dimensions of the hatchback which is now 10mm shorter as compared to outgoing version at 3985mm. Width is increased by 24mm and wheelbase by 45mm, while the overall height is 1505mm. Ground clearance is enhanced by 4mm at 169mm and Elite i20 is expected to offer a capacious boot for storage.
