300 units of the iconic brand Mini are expected to be sold by luxury marque BMW in India during 2012. BMW India also hopes to have more showrooms by the end of 2014. Currently the company has 33 outlets across the countries, which are expected to go up to 50 by 2014.
Despite the economic slowdown, BMW India still is at the top among luxury car makers, in terms of sales numbers. The company is going to be setting up more dealerships and is also going to launch some newer models of the MINI Cooper in India. It is expected that higher growth would take place in the coming years.
It is anticipated that BMW will be able to sell 300 units of the 'Mini' model this year and will continue expanding its dealer network. In keeping with this, a new Mini showroom has been opened by KUN Exclusive in Hyderabad on 19th December 2012. From the interiors, a luxurious and inviting feel has been given to the showroom. Mini's lifestyle collection and accessories are also on display.
Commenting on the launch of the new showroom in Hyderabad, Philipp von Sahr, President at BMW India said, “This year (2012) we make the brand known. Till November, we sold 280 Mini cars and we expect to sell 300 cars for the whole year (January-December).” He also added that many additional models and dealerships for the Mini would be launched in 2013, which should help the iconic brand become more popular in India.
Out of six Mini global models, three of them have been launched in the country- the Cooper S, Convertible and Countryman. There are four showrooms for the same, present in Delhi, Mumbai and recently in Hyderabad.
