Austrian bike manufacturer KTM, which works in collaboration with Bajaj Auto in India, could possibly conduct a dealer conference in Pune in coming weeks in order to discuss the possibility of launching the RC series in India. A launch for two of these models, KTM RC390 and RC200, has been on the cards and sources claim that the firm wants to show it to the dealers before the product eventually goes in the market.

Testing and research for both these models have been going on in the country for a while now and their respective launches are imminent. On a number of occasions, these bikes have been spied in the test mule form, especially around Pune, the location of its production facility. Interestingly, there is an analogy in KTM’s launch style as both RC3900 and RC200 have naked versions already available in the market, namely Duke 390 and Duke 200, respectively. In essence, the KTM RC series is a faired version of the Duke series and both bikes will feature twin-projector headlamps, clip-on handlebars and sharply sculpted fairing.

Though there will be a difference in the appearance of certain features, both bikes from KTM RC series, 390 and 200, are going to feature similar mechanical configurations as the Duke versions. This automatically means that the KTM RC 390 will be fitted with a 373-cc engine developing an output of around 43 BHP and peak torque of 35 Nm along with a six speed gear box. The other model, KTM RC200, will feature a 200 cc engine that will produce a power of 25 BHP along with 19 Nm of peak torque.

As of now, both KTM Duke 390 and 200 are produced at Bajaj Auto’s production facility in Chakan, which is located in Pune. These are not only sold in India but also exported to other countries. The treatment towards the new models will be same as the old ones in terms of production, sales and exports. According to Bikewale, these models might be introduced in the market in the last week of August or it might be pushed to September if dealer training takes time.
