Bajaj had been making news for quite sometime now regarding the launch of its new model that will be an addition in the Discover series. Speculations had surfaced that the new bike would make its way in the market by monsoon and now, according to sources, Bajaj Discover 150S has made it to showrooms and has been launched for a price of INR 51448.
According to a report in Bikewale, though a nationwide launch is yet to take place, bookings for the new Bajaj Discover 150S have already started in showrooms across the country. Industry experts feel that this method of not launching yet launching a bike is going to work wonderfully well for Bajaj Auto and it is likely to increase the firm’s sales manifold. Discover 150, now, has become the top model in one of the best bike series in the Indian market. The new Bajaj 150S, in appearance, seems like a naked version of F150. Though a typical new Discover series model, this bike features an all black theme, which is an exception for Bajaj. Two variants of this bike are going to be available, one featuring drum brakes in the front and the other featuring disc.
In terms of mechanical specifications, both 150S and F150 are powered by 150 cc four valve DTS-i units that produce around 13 bhp and feature a five speed gearbox. While the drum brake variant will cost INR 51448 (ex-showroom Thane), the disc brake variant will cost INR 54438 (ex-showroom Thane. According to sources, this bike will be launched throughout the country, officially, on August 11th, alongside a faired version that will be called 150F.
Bajaj Discover 150S is based on the Discover 125 ST platform and features components like rear mono shock absorber, front and rear mudguards, tank, seat, grab rail, instrument console and alloy wheels. Interestingly, while Bajaj Discover 125ST was introduced at a price of INR 55740, the Discover 150S will be launched at a price much lower.
