Korean auto maker, Hyundai has released an image of yet to be launched ix25 mini SUV. The vehicle will be exhibited at the upcoming Beijing Motor Show later this month. China-spec Hyundai ix25 will be produced by Beijing-Hyundai jv, the SUV will gun straight against the likes of Ford EcoSport compact SUV. The vehicle has been caught on lens on numerous occasions while it was being tested in China. The SUV is loosely based on Hyundai i20 hatchback and is likely to be made available for sale in China during the last quarter.
Styling cues could be passed onto the new ix25 from ix35. Front fascia could get a wrap-around head lamp cluster and sharper lower front air-intakes, a set of fog lamps and enlarged skid plates could also be equipped. Presences of roof rails render a raw look to the SUV’s semblance. Hyundai will also bestow the new ix25 mini SUV with a hexagonal chrome grille.
Classing up the interiors are various features including audio controls positioned on the upper side of the central console while climate control feature is given on the lower side. An infotainment system with large touchscreen could make its way into the high end variant of ix25. Leather seats will further make the SUV look uber cool from inside. Besides the above mentioned features, air vents placed vertically on either side of the audio system will also be seen. A leather wrapped steering wheel will also be equipped inside with phone, audio and cruise control functions.
Hyundai is expected to house 1.6 litre and a 1.4 litre petrol mills in the ix25 SUV. A five-speed manual transmission and a four-speed automatic gearbox will be made available. Hyundai could bring this SUV to India, however, it is too premature to comment on India launch, more details will be revealed in the coming time.
