It must be noted that despite prevalent slowdown in the Indian auto market, Hyundai has been expanding its dealership network quite aggressively. The company has maintained a vast sales and service network with a total of 385 dealers in the country and 23 showrooms itself in Tamil Nadu. Along with Hyundai, there are a number of companies operating in mass segment, such as Mahindra & Mahindra, Maruti Suzuki, which are expanding their footprints in the Indian auto market. Reportedly, a number of companies are planning to pay special attention to rural markets as the demand in these markets are reported to be much high during 2013. Industry experts are of a view that auto companies are leaving no stone unturned to battle out the market slowdown and pull in decent volumes in 2014.
