      Initially, the images of the car named as Hyundai i20 Active, spread like wildfire and is believed to be the new Hyundai i20 Cross. The first shots have leaked shots had the un-camouflaged shot of the new car has surfaced. Looking more like a SUV, this car will be called i20 Active and is based on the new Elite i20 platform.

      Hyundai i20 Active is essentially, a diesel variant and the spy shots reveal that the rear end will receive revised bumpers, circular reflectors, a sharper roof spoiler, roof railing, plastic claddings, i20 Active badge as well silver skid plates.

      The i20 Active will come with different new colours. Ground clearance has been raised and is evident from the spy shot. The expected ground clearance of i20 Active is expected to be of the range of 200 mm.

      Hyundai i20 Active gets LED DRLs, projector headlamps, round fog lights, plastic cladding, silver skid plates and five slat grille. The shape of the grille is also remarkably different.

      The car is expected to be made available in petrol and diesel mill options and hits markets on March 9, 2015. This will also be the global launch of the car. It is expected that the Elite i20 will run on a 1.2 litre Kappa Dual VTVT petrol engine, which will be mated to a five-speed manual transmission. The diesel model is powered by a 1.4-litre U2 CRDi diesel mill, which is connected to a six-speed manual transmission.
