Hyundai had earlier unveiled the 2015 luxury sedan, Genesis, on the occasion of Autocar Performance Show organised in Mumbai. This was mainly done to estimate the customer’s response to the luxury sedan from their customers. The South Korean manufacturer has now imported three units of this sedan to India. One among these models was spotted doing the test rounds around the company’s facility in Chennai. If the response from the Indian car fraternity is good enough, the car maker might as well launch the luxury sedan here. When launched, it is expected to rival the likes of Audi A6, BMW 5 Series, Mercedes E Class and some more in this segment.
The road presence of this car is commendable with impressive dimensions, which measure at 4990 lengthwise, 1480 and 1890 in height and width, respectively. It has an elegant design, which defines a simple yet magnificent construction is sure to attract many. With state-of-the-art comforts and articulate interiors, the car has an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system. Apart from this, some other factors, which make it complete are auto climate control, Intelligent drive mode selection, vehicle stability management as well as electronic stability control. Adding to these features is the capacious seats and the plush interiors, which lend a comfortable driving experience overall.
The model comes equipped with a 3.8 litre V6 petrol mill, which produces around 311 horsepower and a torque output of 397 Nm. Apart from this engine, the car has also been provided with a standard model, which runs on a 3.0 petrol engine and a 5.0 litre V8 mill, with All-Wheel Drive (AWD) option. There are chances that Hyundai might launch the Genesis in India, if so, the competition would be high or the existing models. It is expected to come to the country via the CBU route, being tagged at 50-60 lakhs INR.
