As we reported yesterday, Hyundai India is contemplating to launch a compact SUV, in domestic market. Speculations suggest that the company could bring ix25 compact SUV in India that was showcased at the 2014 Beijing Motor Show. If we go by media reports the SUV could barge in India by 2015. High on demand the compact SUV segment is growing exponentially in India and hence auto makers in India are vying to bring their compact SUVs. Officials at Hyundai have also confirmed that launch of a compact SUV in on cards though they have not shared any detail on the SUV yet.
As for the design of the new SUV is concerned, it could take cues from the Hyundai’s Fluidic Sculpture 2.0 design philosophy. The tweaked design philosophy will be seen in all the new cars from Hyundai while the existing range will also be bestowed with this design. Hyundai is likely to conceive the new compact SUV on i10 platform which will be a viable option for the auto maker. For now there isn’t much details on the unnamed SUV that is yet in inception stage. In India the compact SUV will compete with the likes of Renault Duster, Ford EcoSport and others in its segment.
