      Honda Siel registers 25 percent jump in sales to 6,907 units in August

      Honda Siel Cars India Pvt. Ltd., the Indian subsidiary of the leading Japanese car maker Honda, has registered a sales rise of 25.17 per cent during the month of August 2011. The company sold a total of 6,907 units of its cars in August 2011, as against 5,518 units sold in the same month last year. It was the highest ever sales registered in the month of August.

      The company had offered heavy discounts on its popular cars Honda City and Jazz during this month that boosted the sales of these cars. The sales of premium hatchback Jazz, which was launched in a cheaper version in this month, stood at 600 units in this month. The sales of premium sedan Civic and Accord stood at 330 units and 132 units, respectively. The sales of company’s popular luxury sports utility vehicle CR-V stood at 26 units during the month.

      In a statement issued on the occasion, the company said, "This remarkable growth in sales is fuelled by the sales of Honda City. The company sold 5,819 units of the Honda City in August, 2011, registering 35 per cent growth from the 4,251 units sold in August 2010."
