      New generation Mercedes Benz C-Class launched in India

      Mercedes Benz India, the Indian unit of the Germany based leading luxury car maker, launched the much awaited C-Class sedan in the Indian market on Thursday. The new version of Flagship C-Class priced in the range of Rs 29.75 lakh and Rs 32.30 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).

      Speaking to the reporters on the occasion of the launch of this car in the Indian market, Mercedes-Benz India Director (Sales & Marketing) Debashis Mitra said, "The C-Class is our flagship and we are the market leader in this segment. The new C-Class will further strengthen our position in the market." He added that the company is eying to sell about 250-300 units of its C-Class sedan as compared to 200 units registered by the previous version.

      The Mercedes Benz C-Class is currently the cheapest model in the German car maker’s India portfolio. The car contributes about 40-45 per cent in the total sales of the firm in the Indian market. During the first seven months of this year, total sales of Mercedes Benz stood at 3,991 units, out of which the sales of C Class sedan stood at 1,639 units.

      According to Mr. Mitra, the company is mainly targeting the youths in the age group of 25-30 years for the new car and to attract them, it has added many advanced technical features in the car.
