Honda Siel Cars India (HSCI), the company formed by Joint Venture (JV) of Honda Motor Company and Siel Limited, is formed to produce, export and market passenger cars in the Indian auto market. The auto manufacturer said on 1st May 2012 that the overall sales of the company in the first month of this fiscal went up as much as three times, resulting to 7,075 units.

The company officials said in a statement that HSCI registered sales of 2,012 units in the corresponding period last year. Between tenure of January to April 2012, the company reported sales of 28,731 units, which showed a growth of 71 per cent under the review of 16,789 units sold during the same period last year.

Addressing the sales figures of last month, Jnaneswar Sen, Senior Vice-President (Sales and Marketing), HSCI said, “Our sales performance in the month of March has been very impressive and is a testimony to our customer’s trust and confidence in our product and services.”

The idea conceived behind this growth is the success of Honda Brio, a hatchback and the new City, a sedan. Both of these cars have pulled the masses and gathered a decent response from the buyers. Studying the pattern of market, the company is moving with a positive approach in this fiscal, since it believes to mark growth in coming months because of increased demand across its product portfolio.
