Aston Martin DBS, which was launched on 16th August 2007 at Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance, will be replaced soon by the company. After the discontinuation of the Vanquish model in the year 2006, the company introduced the DBS, which was first seen in the movie of James Bond ‘Casino Royale’ starring Daniel Craig.

During early 90's, the flagship model of Aston Martin used to be a model named ‘the Vanquish’. A successor of DB7, the Vanquish was even more muscular in looks than its predecessor. It was first offered with a 450 hp V12 engine and the later ultimate model, the Vanquish S got a 514 hp engine.

In 2007, the Vanquish from Newport Pagnell was succeeded by the DBS but not before offering 40 units of limited edition final run model named the Vanquish S ultimate edition. The main highlights of the Vanquish S ultimate edition were a distinguished black paint job and improved interiors. An easy to use manual gearbox was also provided which was a replacement to a slander sequential gear transmission in the regular Vanquish model.

The company now plans to replace the DBS with a DBS Ultimate Edition. Aston Martin DBS comes with a 5.9 litre 48 valve V12 power-train. The engine is mated with a 6-speed manual transmission along with an option of automatic transmission. Mileage of 5 kmpl in city drive conditions and around 8 kmpl on highway is provided by the luxury car. The power-train delivers output of 510 hp at 6500 rpm. The DBS can accelerate from 0-100 kmph in just 4.3 seconds and attain top speed of 307 kmph.

The British car-maker is planning to introduce all new DBS by the year end which indicates that the current model will be discontinued. However, before its extinction, Aston Martin is planning to build 100 Ultimate Editions of DBS as a gesture. Though the specifications of the DBS Ultimate Edition are yet to be determined, experts predict that the manual gearbox won’t be included.

The limited edition of the famed DBS may sport a special Carbon Black paint along with special wheel and rims to match with the looks. However, there will be a very little change in the technical specifications like the power-train or suspensions. The final run limited edition will be priced approximately $3,00,000. Only 100 cars will be produced out of which 30 would be available at USA dealerships.
