Honda is all set to launch its much awaited Brio Amaze sedan in Thailand on November 23, 2012 with a starting price tag of 455,000 THB (Rs. 8.18 lacs), whereas, its top end variant will be available for 523,500 THB (Rs. 9.39 lacs). Thailand would be the first country to get Honda Amaze that comes packed with a large number of features. The all new Honda Brio is likely to be available in India by early next year.

It is being speculated that the Amaze in India would come with an all aluminium engine; thus, making the car much lighter than other sedans in the same segment presently available. While India would get Amaze in diesel engine, those being launched in Thailand at present are petrol powered. The engine of the Amaze sedan has been developed by former Honda's F1 team and the car is expected to deliver a good mileage.

In Thailand, Honda Brio Amaze will be launched in four variants which include Brio Amaze S MT, Brio Amaze V MT, Brio Amaze S AT and Brio Amaze V AT. While the Honda Brio Amaze SAT is priced at 494,500 THB (Rs. 8.88 lacs), its V MT model comes with a price tag of 484,500 THB (Rs. 8.70 lacs). All these variants will house a 1.2 litre petrol engine capable of delivering a maximum power of 90 bhp.

About its new Amaze sedan, Honda says, "Brio Amaze offers driving fun for every mood. The 1.2-liter 4-cylinder 16-valve engine with 90 horsepower gives enough power, and fuel economy is excellent as the new 1.2-liter sedan can satisfy a wide and varied range perfectly." According to the company, the new 1.2L petrol engine is developed for Asian auto market especially Thailand and India.

Due to non availability of any diesel powered car from Honda in the country, its sales has decreased in the last few years owing to the increase in fuel prices. The company will, therefore, bank on the diesel powered Brio Amaze to be a game changer and raise its dipping sales. When launched in India, Brio Amaze will take on the likes of Maruti Suzuki Dzire, which has already become very popular.
