      Hero Dash 110 and Maestro Edge 125 launching soon

      Hero MotoCorp is planning to launch a couple of scooters in the next two months, i.e. in festive season. During a media interaction, Ravi Sud, Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer, confirmed that the company will launch two new scooters in the upcoming festive season. Though, he didn’t reveal the names of the scooters, we expect that these will be - Hero Dash and Dare (Maestro Edge). While the former is likely to be named the Duet/Specter, the latter one might be christened the Maestro Edge. Just so you know, both the scooters were unveiled at the 2014 Delhi Auto Expo.

      Powering the Hero Dash is expected to be a new 111cc single-cylinder air-cooled engine that is mated to a CVT automatic transmission. This engine puts out a maximum power of 8.44bhp and 9.4Nm of torque. According to reports, the Dash might be offered in two variants – LX and VX. Features like alloy wheels, USB charging port and a silencer cover are likely to be offered only on the top-variant. The Hero Dash will rival the Honda Activa, and is expected to be priced around Rs. 55, 000 (ex-showroom).

      The Hero Maestro Edge (Dare) will be powered by a 124.6cc forced air-cooled engine that churns out a maximum power of 9.38bhp at 7,500rpm and 9.8Nm of torque at 6,500rpm. It could be equipped with a digital console, LED daytime lights, dual-tone body, alloy wheels and taillights. The Maestro Edge will draw its braking power from 200mm front disc brakes and body-colored brake caliper.
