23rd September 2009: Ford had launched the first-generation Figo, with Ford's then big boss Alan Mullaly unveiling the car in India.
-The new Figo is made on a new platform and has been build ground up by Ford in India.
-Ford claims that the Figo has been made with no compromise on all the fronts. Safety, performance and even fuel efficiency. The new Figo will come loaded with several important and useful features.
-The new Ford Figo gets a front with the Aston Martin-like inspied front grille. Similar to the Figo Aspire.
-The Figo's interiors have 20 smart spaces to store away anything be it bottles, cupholders, coins or umbrellas.
-The Figo has the best in class wheelbase and ground clearance of 174mm.
-The new Figo's half of the bodyweight is made of high tensile body structure and it is the only hatchback to offer six airbags. The base model will get driver airbag and the second variant will get dual airbags as standard.
-The Ford's myFord key feature will be offered in the second-generation Figo and it will also get SYNC app.
-Ford has over 800 sub-assembly parts and this reduces the maintenance cost. Even the regular service intervals are at 10,000 kms compared others which are about 5,000kms.
-Ford Figo petrol base model is launched at Rs 429,900 (ex-showroom, Delhi) and the diesel costs Rs 529,900 for the base diesel.
