It is no secret that Ford India is developing a new compact sedan for domestic market, the sedan in question is the Figo concept displayed earlier this year at the 2014 Auto Expo. According to latest report the sedan will make its way in domestic market earlier next year. The sedan will be a sub-four meter offering and will be inducted as a replacement to the current Classic sedan.
Forf Figo compact sedan will be one of the first vehicles from the stable of Ford India to be manufactured at the company’s upcoming manufacturing unit in Gujarat. In the compact sedan segment, Figo CS will compete with the likes of Maruti Swift Dzire, Honda Amaze, Hyundai Accent and newly inducted Tata Zest. In Brazil, Figo CS will be sold with a different name, ‘KA+’. The India-spec model is expected to share striking resemblance with KA+ sedan, though one of the major differences will be length of both the vehicles. The India bound sedan will be a sub-four meter offering while the Brail-spec model will measure above four meters. On the mechanical front too, both the vehicle are likely to be the same.
Along with the new Figo compact sedan, Ford is also working on the new generation Figo hatchback that is expected to be rolled out towards the end of next year.
