Festive season is approaching nearer and car makers in India have already pulled their socks for new launches lined up during this time. Plethora of new cars and updated avatars will be rolled out around this time in domestic market. Hyundai India will also bring forth its retouched version i20 hatchback that has been spotted undergoing test runs several times across the country. As festive season is inching closer, more details have been revealed on updated i20.
Sources close to the development have revealed that 2015 Hyundai i20 brags European verve and its front fascia will bear resemblance with Peugeot cars. Changes made to the front include a revised honeycomb front grille that will also feature number plate. Head lamps are expected to get metal inserts, side profile has been kept suave with minimal changes. Tweaks made to the rear comprise of a revivified bumper integrated with reflectors towards the bottom. A redesigned tail gate could be expected and rear lighting cluster had been stretched.
There isn't much information yet on the engine configuration of the vehicle, however it is being expected that there will be no changes in the engine set up and Hyundai could continue with the same 1.2 litre and 1.4 petrol engine for petrol variants. While diesel range could get the 1.4 litre diesel powertrain as seen in its predecessor. The usual four-speed automatic transmission is likely to be replaced with five-speed autobox. The B segment seems to undergo an overhaul as most the vehicles in this segment have either been revamped or are undergoing a modifications like Volkswagen recently rolled out updated Polo lately and upgraded Maruti Swift and Punto Evo will soon be spawned. Besides these cars, a new entrant in B segment, Tata Bolt will also join the band wagon by year end.
