Datsun officially launched its GO hatchback in India yesterday at a competitive price of Rs 3.12 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). Besides the four trims, D, D1, A and T that are available for sale in India, the company has also put on offer a Women Edition which is aimed at young women customers. GO Women Edition offers a string of features like reverse parking sensor along with a camera, parcel tray, rear and side curtain, cushion seat and mood light which are absent in the four trims. Besides this, GO Women Edition also gets body decals for enhanced appearance. Datsun has yet not announced price of the Women Edition, dealers too have not started accepting bookings for it.
Nissan’s low cost brand eyes proffering affordable cars to its customers. Datsun’s official website reveals that the company has also put on offer various accessories for exteriors, interiors, apart from this comfort and electrical accessories are also available.
Priced at Rs 3.12 lakhs, the GO hatchback is juxtaposed with cars like Maruti Alto and Hyundai Eon, however, GO is a large hatchback as compared to its competition. Keeping the price affordable, the basic D trim is devoid of many features, however features being offered as standard across trims include follow-me-home head lights, a digital trip computer, gear shift guide, engine immobiliser and speed sensitive wiper. Middle trim on the other hand has additional features like air conditioning, mobile phone stand, audio system with only aux-in compatibility, two speakers, a USB port for charging only and Jacquard seat upholstery. Apart from the features offered in middle trim, GO’s top-of-the-line variant, GO T, features additional equipments like power steering, front power windows and central locking.
The 1.2 litre, three pot engine is paired with a five-speed manual transmission. The gasoline engine is capable of delivering a decent ARAI certified fuel economy of 20.63 kmpl.
