Ahead of its launch in Q3-Q4, 2015, the Chevrolet Trailblazer has been snapped testing in Ladakh. The SUV, initially, will be imported from Thailand via CKD route, and then assembled at GM’s Halol plant. According to reports, the Chevrolet Trailblazer, that will rival the Hyundai Santa Fe and new-gen Toyota Fortuner, could replace the Captiva in the Indian market.
Talking about the engine, the Chevrolet Trailblazer will be powered by a 2.8-litre, Duramax four-cylinder diesel engine that is paired with a 6-speed manual transmission. This engine is capable to produce a maximum power of 200bhp, and a class-leading 500Nm of torque. Both the 2WD and 4WD drive systems will also be on offer. On the exterior, the Trailblazer will feature projector headlights with LED daytime running lights, 17-18-inches alloy wheels and LED brake lights. The SUV sits on GM’ ladder frame chassis, and measures 4,866mm in length, 1,902mm in width and 1,848mm in height with a wheelbase of 2,845mm.
Key features are a 7-inch Chevrolet’s MyLink touchscreen infotainment system with iOS and Android support, reverse camera with chromatic LCD monitor and rear view mirror, a dual-tone black and beige interior with premium upholstery, a dash camera with 32GB memory and tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS). The Trailblazer will host a bunch of advanced safety features such as dual front airbags, ABS (anti-lock braking system), EBD (electronic brake-force distribution system), hill descent control, ESC (electronic stability control), traction control and engine drag control.
