According to a report, the Mahindra Scorpio AT has been launched in two trims – S10 2WD and S10 4WD – at Rs. 15.49 lakh and Rs. 16.92 lakh (ex-showroom, Mumbai) respectively. Dealers have started taking pre-booking orders for sum of Rs. 50, 000 with deliveries promised in 45 days. Just so you know, Mahindra & Mahindra introduced the new-gen Scorpio (MT) year in September 2014, and discontinued the automatic transmission.
Available only on the top-end S10 variant, the new Mahindra Scorpio AT is powered with a 2.2-litre, 4-cylinder mHawk diesel engine that also does duty on the standard manual version. This engine is mated with a 6-speed self-shifting hydraulic transmission that helps the car produce a maximum power of 120bhp at 4,000rpm and 280Nm of torque between 1,800rpm – 2,800rpm. The new Scorpio AT features an “Automatic’ badge on the tail gate and both the sides. Though, design and dimensions remain unchanged.
Similar to the regular manual versions, the new Scorpio AT is available in 7-seat and 8-seat configurations. Features on offer are a 6-inch touchscreen infotainment system with CD, DVD, USB, Aux-in and Bluetooth connectivity, GPS navigation, Voice assist system, rain & light sensors, Intellipark, driver information via infotainment system, etc. Safety features like dual front airbags, anti-theft alarm, ABS, EBD and engine immobilizer are also on offer.
The new Mahindra Scorpio AT will rival the upcoming Hyundai Creta diesel automatic.
