      Chevrolet Beat Diesel Launched in AP

      It is time for celebration in Andhra Pradesh as the much awaited diesel version of Chevrolet Beat has been finally launched. Quoted as the most fuel efficient car, the model's petrol and LPG versions are already a favourite among Indian customers. The company expects that the newly launched Diesel model will further add to popularity. With an introductory price range of Rs. 4.37 to Rs. 5.55 lacs, the model indeed looks appealing. GM India has launched the model in four variants, the Chevrolet Beat Diesel Basic, Chevrolet Beat Diesel LS, Chevrolet Beat Diesel LT and Chevrolet Beat Diesel PS.

      During the launch of the model in Hyderabad, GM India Vice President P. Balendran said, “Wherever petrol and diesel versions were both available, the share of diesel vehicles had gone up to 70 per cent. Otherwise, in the overall market, 60 percent vehicles were petrol versions and the rest diesel”. He further adds that 45,000 units are being sold in the international market since its launch in January, last year. In India, the model aims to completely eliminate the fuel worries from the minds of consumers with its superior 24 kmpl mileage.

      With the launch of Chevrolet Beat Diesel, the competition in the segment of small diesel cars has heated up. The model will be facing tough competition from the likes of Maruti Suzuki Swift (D), Ford Figo and Suzuki Ritz. However, the company is confident about the success of the model and aims to launch five new models in India in the next two years. It is clear that even under a sluggish automotive market; General Motors is upbeat about its Indian prospects and expects a growth of 20-25% in the current financial year.

      Chevrolet Beat Diesel boasts of a 1.0 XSDE SMARTECH engine, designed specifically for India. The engine oil needs a change only once in 1.5 years, which drastically reduces the maintenance cost. In compliance with environmental concerns, the company has left no stone unturned. Backed by a state-of-the-art Common Rail Fuel Injection Technology, the model offers superior emission performance and fuel economy. Its electrically controlled throttle body further reduces carbon emissions. The Beat Diesel’s 65% high-strength steel body cage ensures better occupant safety. With sound quality setting options, Indian consumers can enjoy seamless music while driving.  Besides fuel economy, GM India has also taken care of styling and comfort in its new offering.

      With the launch of Chevrolet Beat Diesel, GM India has entered the diesel car segment with a bang. Easy to drive, sleek interiors, ARAI certified fuel efficiency of 24 kmpl mileage, the company is confident that the diesel car model will be the leader in the entry level diesel cars segment.
