      Car companies count on movies to promote their vehicles

      Over a period of time, eminent car companies have joined hands with Bollywood and Hollywood films to promote their vehicles in a big way. In the recent times too, many popular films have used a host of cars while shooting action sequences and during the entry of the protagonist in the movie. The recently released films, Don 2 and Mission Impossible Ghost Protocol, served as great mediums to endorse the products manufactured by auto industry leaders.

      Giant car companies decided to increase the visibility of their cars through the big banner film Don 2. The film has contributed immensely in promoting vehicles like 2012 Hyundai Sonata, Hyundai Santa Fe, BMW 5 Series and Alfa Romeo MiTo. These cars were seen zooming past each other during a pulse racing action sequence that involved 67 cars.

      MI4 that hit the Indian theatres some time back featured a number of BMW cars like 2014 BMW i8, the working prototype of the upcoming plug-in hybrid super car and the recently launched 2012 BMW 6 Series Convertible. Moreover, the car company has come up with a marketing campaign known as "Mission to Drive" that is based on the Mission Impossible theme.

      The soon to-be-released Bollywood film Players will be seen endorsing cars like the original Mini Cooper, Mazda MX5 and a modified Chrysler 300C stretch limo. Popular movies like Singham, Shivaji and Robot showcased Mahindra Scorpio in the best possible manner using unimaginable stunts. The upcoming Dhoom 3 would be seen promoting cars like Koenigsegg CCX, Ford Mustang and Nissan 370Z.

      Thus, car companies have banked upon movies to gain maximum publicity and recognition for their cars much before these machines actually hit the roads.
