      BMW Plans To Expand Its Sales Network To 22 Dealers

      BMW India, the second largest luxury car maker in the country, stated on Thursday that it will further expand its dealership network in the Indian market during next year. The company is currently in the first phase of its expansion plan and has 12 dealerships in the country. In the second phase of dealership expansion, the company aims to take the total number of its dealership in Indian market to 22 dealers.

      The company had recently inaugurated a new sales outlet in Bhubaneswar (Orrisa) that has been named as OSL Prestige. Where the service outlet of this new dealership is in Cuttack, the display showroom is located in Shahid Nagar. The new BMW dealership comes with state-of-art workshop that has a capacity to service as many as 10 cars in a single day.

      Speaking on the occasion, BMW India’s President Mr. Andreas Schaaf said that BMW visions to cement its leading place in the Indian auto sector by entering in its second phase of investment and expansion plans. The new outlets will strengthen the second Phase of the BMW's expansion plan in India, he added.

      Meanwhile, the company has achieved a milestone in the Indian market by rolling out 10,000th luxury car from its Chennai plant. The Chennai unit of BMW was inaugurated in year 2007 and the company has been manufacturing its popular 3-Series and 5-Series sedans at this facility.

      BMW is currently one of the fastest growing luxury car makers in the county. It has a slew of cars in the Indian market including luxury sedans like BMW 3-Series, 5-Series, 6-Series and 7-Series, and luxury SUVs like BMW X3, X5 and X6. Moreover, the company is gearing up to launch its much awaited luxury SUV, BMW X1 in the Indian market by the last week of this year. The X1 model is expected to carry a price tag of Rs 20 to 25 lakh.
